The Cooper School hosted a talk from a member of the House of Lords to encourage students to become more engaged with the political and parliamentary process.  Lord Borwick. met with sixth form Law, and Government and Politics students for an hour to talk about the work and role of the House of Lords. This was followed by a question and answer session on various aspects of the parliamentary process and life at Westminster generally.

Mr Allum – Head of Law, Business and Economics at The Cooper School said, “This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to interact with someone who knows the parliamentary system inside out, as it can sometimes seem far removed from their daily lives.”

Mrs Underwood, Head of Government and Politics, added “We have all been very impressed by the House of Lords outreach program which is so dedicated to educating more young people in the significance and functions of political processes in the UK.  We hope that this will become an annual event as the students gained so much from the experience.”
