On Tuesday 21st April, Headteachers, Teachers, ICT Co-ordinators and Governors from across the county were invited to an event being held at The Cooper School, Bicester, organised by the Oxfordshire Governor’s Association.
The event began with a tour of The Cooper School, throughout which Mr Baxter introduced visitors to the benefits of the school’s well established flexible learning spaces. Teaching areas visited illustrated the layout and use of various entrenched learning environments as Mr Baxter answered many questions and gave examples of the advantages of flexible learning. The use of flexible spaces and environments has been successfully in place at The Cooper School for over five years, to remarkable success and visitors expressed great interest in exemplars and methods presented. The tour ended with a visit to the school’s state of the art television studio, before guests made their way to the Performance Hall for refreshments and Professor Heppell’s talk.
A Professor of New Media Environments at the Centre for Excellence in Media Practice where he leads pedagogic research, Stephen Heppell delivered an informative and much anticipated discourse, providing the audience much to consider and offering an opportunity for questions and answers.
More information about Professor Heppell and his work can be found on his website – http://www.heppell.net/.
