Yesterday, GCSE Students had the opportunity to attend a conference, run by PIXL, aimed at helping students elevate their English Language GCSE grade. The students worked through a number of activities to improve key skills for their language papers and it concluded with a motivational talk by Action Jackson, an award winning motivational speaker.

Coming off of the coach yesterday afternoon, it sounded like the trip had been a great success, with students bubbling with what they had learned. Comments such as, “I found that trip really interesting!” – Keira Beckles, “I thought we learnt a lot on this trip.” – Amie Cathcart, “I love going on trips like this, so would happily go again if there’s something like this” – Bethany Hulbert and “What a really interesting trip, it was fun to do something different”  – Lucy Hutchins. Thank you to the English department for what was certainly a worthwhile day out for all concerned!
