Last night, The Cooper School, hosted its annual Open Evening, a chance for prospective students and their parents to come and see what we have to offer.

The evening was very well attended, welcoming visitors from primary schools right across Bicester and the surrounding area, as well as visitors from across the county borders, keen to see what we have to offer.

Visitors were treated to a welcome presentation in our Performance Hall by our Headteacher, Mr Baxter and Deputy Head, Ms Merritt which gave an overall flavour of the school, our ethos and vision. The talks, including Mr Baxter’s overview of The Cooper School video below (add link) were all full, requiring three sittings, to accommodate the number of visitors! The atmosphere was buzzing across the site as tours of the school were conducted by our Post 16 students, excited to illustrate to visitors the fantastic work that goes on here. Staff and students eagerly welcomed visitors to departments, where they were able to see examples of coursework, view displays and engage in many of the interactive experiences set up to portray our everyday life, here at The Cooper School.

Feedback was extremely positive, with comments such as,

‘I wish school was like this when I was at school. I can’t wait for my son to be here’.

‘Our tour guide is lovely, what an articulate and lovely young man’.

‘When I come here, will I be allowed to be a helper on Open Evening?’

‘I love the television studio, what a wonderful resource for the students to have on site’

‘I didn’t expect the students to be so chatty. They are so polite’
