A Level Results 2018

Many students at The Cooper School celebrated their successes in their ‘A’ Level exams.  The results in the Key Performance Indicators are as follows:

10% achieved A*/A

33% achieved A*- B

68% achieved A*-C

99% achieved A*-E

Of particular note was the outstanding academic achievements of Jess Skellern and Amy Kerby who both achieved straight A/A* grades.

Jess said: I am slightly speechless right now as I have just opened my results and got a lovely surprise but this has definitely been the the icing on the cake for my experience here at The Cooper School Post 16. I don’t feel as though it would have been possible to get into Bristol without the continuous support from the teachers and my peers here at the Cooper School.. I’m really excited to be studying Politics and International Relations.

Mr Ben Baxter, Executive Headteacher at The Cooper School commented: ‘The Year 13 students can now look forward to taking up their university places. It has been a tremendous six years of ‘A’ Level results since the school changed status to an 11-18 school and opened its Post-16 centre and these results very much reflect the commitment of the staff and students who are to be congratulated on their successes.’

Mr Mark Doorley, Director of Post 16 studies stated: ‘In a time of further curriculum upheaval we are pleased with many of these results as they reflect the hard work of the staff and students at the school. The many changes to ‘A’ Levels and GCSEs over the last few years have posed big challenges to students and staff alike, but with these results many of our students will now get into their first choice university places. Others have exciting plans to begin jobs, apprenticeships and gap years with great qualifications to support them in their future careers. We would like to wish all of our students the very best for their bright futures.’
