Holiday Absence

REQUEST FOR HOLIDAY ABSENCE

The Cooper School would like to inform parents/carers of students attending the school that, following a recent directive from the Department of Education, we will be unable to authorise any request for student absence during term time for holiday purposes. This will apply to all year groups in school.

The Headteacher will retain the right to authorise requests because of ‘Exceptional circumstance’.

Please contact Kevin Clayton, Attendance Officer, on 01869 242121 if you believe your request would be subject to ‘Exceptional circumstance’.

The parents of any student who is absent during school time for the purpose of a holiday could be be liable to prosecution by the Attendance and Engagement team from Oxfordshire County Council. Details can be found on the Oxfordshire County Council website.
