IMPROVING ACHIEVEMENT TOGETHER

On signing this agreement: – Parents/Guardians, teachers and students/pupils will support the school’s values and the school will deliver a broad and balanced curriculum to meet the appropriate needs and abilities of your child, leading onto formal academic and/or vocational qualifications.

As a school we will:

  • Seek to achieve high standards of work and behaviour through building good
    relationships and developing a sense of responsibility.
  • Seek to ensure your child achieves his/her full potential as a valued member of the school community.
  • Attend parents’ evenings and discuss your child’s progress.
  • Maintain high professional standards.
  • Care for your child’s safety and happiness in school.
  • Avoid undermining parents’ authority by criticising parents in front of their children.
  • Be open and welcoming and offer opportunities for you to become involved in the lifeof the school.
  • Keep you informed of your child’s progress, give praise when due and let you know of any concerns about your child’s work or behaviour.
  • Set homework regularly in line with the school’s published policy.


As a student/pupil I will:

  • Keep to the Code of Conduct and obey the school rules.
  • Give all letters and reports to my parents/guardians and do my best to make appointments for them for parents’ evenings.
  • Arrive on time, go to all my lessons properly equipped and wear the full school
    uniform.
  • Accept teachers’ authority and do what I am told.
  • Tell my form tutor of any problems affecting my work or safety in school.
  • Do my homework on time and to the best of my ability.

As a parent/guardian to the best of my ability I will try to:

  • Support the school’s policies and guidelines for behaviour.
  • Attend parents’ evenings and discussions about my child’s progress.
  • See that my child attends school on time and properly equipped and in uniform.
  • Avoid undermining the school’s authority by challenging policies and decisions in front of my child.
  • Use the school’s procedures for making appointments to meet staff, register
    complaints and for making requests for holiday absence during term time.
  • Let the school know about any concerns that might affect my child’s work or
    behaviour.
  • Support my child in doing homework or other home learning.
  • Keep the school informed of any absences and other changes in my child’s
    circumstances (names, addresses etc)
